The 16th Annual Holtville Athletic Club Rib Cook-Off is in the books. This major Imperial Valley event was incredibly dominated by the “Wild Bunch. This rookie team took home the Judges Choice $1,000.00 grand prize as well as the best side dish award of $250.00. Then they proceeded to immediately donate the prize money back to the Holtville Athletic Club.
The Pinnacle award was won by the Viola Café for the fifth consecutive year, this bragging rights only award designates the team that raised the most money for the local communities. In other competition USG narrowly beat the Imperial County Planning Department to take home the best booth contest. In the ice cream making contest, Betty Lehman took home the trophy and Helen Wilson won the homemade pie-making contest.
